Academy Course Terms
Effective Date: September 24, 2026
These terms apply when you buy a course from the Undecided Academy at academy.undecided.tech, run by Undecided Media, LLC ("we", "us" or "our"). They add to our main Terms and Conditions. If the two ever differ, these Academy Course Terms apply to your course.
1. What you get
When you buy a course, you get:
- access to all of the course's video lessons and notes on academy.undecided.tech
- any updates we make to that course while we offer it
A course is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, and you will not be charged again.
2. Buying a course
Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are in US dollars and are shown on each course page. Sales tax is added where the law requires it.
Where we sell. At the moment, we can only accept payments from the United States and Canada.
Discount codes. Sometimes we offer discount codes, for example to our Patreon supporters. A code can only be used at checkout. We cannot apply it to a purchase after you have paid.
3. Getting into your course
After you pay, we email you from academy@undecided.tech. To start, go to academy.undecided.tech, click Sign in, and enter the email address you used at checkout. We send you a sign-in link. There is no password.
If the email does not arrive within an hour, check your spam folder, then contact us.
If you bought a course from us on Teachable before we moved to this site, your access has moved with you. Sign in with the same email address you used on Teachable.
4. How long you keep access
Your access lasts for as long as we offer the course. We call this "lifetime access".
If we ever decide to stop offering a course, we will email everyone who bought it at least 90 days before we remove it.
5. Refunds
If you are not happy with a course, you can get a full refund within 30 days of your purchase, for any reason.
To ask for a refund, email contact@undecided.media from the email address you used to buy the course, and tell us which course it is. We process refunds through Stripe. The money usually reaches your card within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
When a refund is processed, your access to that course ends. Your account stays, so you can buy the course again later.
After 30 days, we do not give refunds, except where the law requires it.
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us before you dispute it with your bank. We can usually fix it faster.
6. Your course is for you
Your course access is for you alone. Please do not:
- share your sign-in email, or let other people use your account
- download, record, copy or re-upload the lessons
- sell or give away the course content
We may end your access, without a refund, if you share or copy a course. See section 10 of our main Terms and Conditions.
7. Courses are education, not professional advice
Our courses teach general principles and share Matt's own experience. They are not engineering, electrical, financial, legal or tax advice for your home or situation. Prices, products, incentives and local rules change often, and they differ by location.
Before you buy equipment, sign a contract, or do any electrical work, check the details for your own situation and talk to a qualified professional, such as a licensed installer or electrician. Electrical work can be dangerous. Only a qualified person should do it.
8. Changes to a course
We may update, reorder, or improve lessons over time, for example to replace old information. We will not remove the main content you paid for, except as set out in section 4.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes do not reduce the refund window or access for a course you have already bought. We will change the effective date at the top of this page when we update them.
